He is survived by: his wife Susan Walker Ervin; his children, Richard James Ervin, Jr. of Mooresville, Susie Moose (Bobby Coates) of Clarksville, TN, Angela Dawn Ervin of Mooresville and Ginger Ervin Owens (Brian) of Troutman; his grandchildren, James Robert Ervin, Susan Ervin Armas, Tiffany, Theresa Ervin, Scarlette Loraine Ervin and Jacob Owens; his great grandchildren, Savannah Marie Ervin and Brianna Valerie Ervin; his mother-in-law Mary Sue Walker; his aunt Myrtle Sigmon; his sister-in-law Lydia Efird; his niece Nicole; and his nephews, Lester and Luke.
