She was predeceased by: her parents, James Mott Tate and Viola Reid Tate; and her siblings, Ethel Tate, James "BaBro" Tate, Willie, Chambers and Carnell Garrison.
She is survived by: her significant other James; her children, Gary Tate (Caroline) of Statesville, Rickey Tate (Lisa) of Statesville, Mary Ethel Sherrill of Statesville, Darlene Campbell of Harmony, Robert Sherrill (Shay) of Statesville, Johnathan Morris of Harmony, Vincent Morris of Chesterfield, Virginia and Treava Evans (Dwain) of Harmony; and her sisters, Grace Dean Tate of Statesville and Betty Sue Tate Barnes (Joe) of Statesville. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and dear friends.
