She was predeceased by: her parent Theodore Newland. She is survived by: her parent Ollie Newland; her children, Debra Mayes, Lisa Brown (Jesse), Viola Keaton, Joseph, James (Sherri) and Donald (Jennie); her sisters, Wilma Stokes of Taylorsville and Sue Caldwell of Charlotte; her husband Kenneth; her daughter Leslie Newland; and her sister Berdene Kelly. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 456, Taylorsville NC 28681.
