He is survived by: his parent Lucille Elizabeth Millsaps Mayes; his wives, Linda "Sweetie" and Linda Parks Mayes; his son Byron Eller (Mary) of Stratford, CT; his grandchild Sydney Williams of Ahmad Eller; his siblings, Mary Ann Elizabeth Mayes, Bessie N. Mayes, Jessie "Buster" M. Mayes, Sr. (Fleeta) of Taylorsville, James "Jim" A. Mayes, Sr. (Jean) of Taylorsville and Harvey L. Mayes, Jr. (Rhonda) of Taylorsville; and his brother-in-law Russell Lackey of Statesville.
