He was predeceased by: his father William T. Walters; his brother William T. Walters, Jr.; his niece Tracy Tharrington; and his pet Duke. He is survived by: his wife Katherine E. Walters; his sons, Larry B. Lancaster (Trey) and Jonathan H. Lancaster (Jack); his siblings, Deborah W. Warren, Dennis L. Walters and Robert L. Walters (Paula); his niece Jan W. York; his nephew Thomas Z. Warren; his pet Tarheel; and his family Katherine.
