Phillips) of Tarboro and Alta Dean Phillips of New Bern; his sisters, Janie Britt (Joe) of Tarboro and Kay Smith (Mike) of Enfield; and his grandchildren, Kendall Phillips of Tarboro, Richard Jones, Jr. of New Bern, Matthew Johnson of Tarboro, Melissa Winstead of Nashville, Paige Jones of New Bern and Mackenzie Johnson (Terry Richardson) of Tarboro. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, 6 nephews, 1 niece.
