She was predeceased by: her father Johnnie Simmons. She is survived by: her husband Horace A. Yancey of Tarboro, NC; her children, Horace A. Yancey, III of Irvington, NJ and Jacqueline Yancey Mitchell of East Orange, NJ; her siblings, McArthur Carr of Greensboro, NC and Teora Harrell of Scotland Neck, NC; and her grandchildren, Amaris Mitchell and Aniya Yancey. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
