He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Mack and Peggy Jean Garner Owens. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Mitchum Owens; his children, Matthew Owens (Kelly) of Macclesfield, N. C., John Callowhill of Tonawanda, N. Y., Heather Kramer (Mark) of Tonawanda, N. Y. and April Zickafoose of Jacksonville, N. C.; his brother William "Billy" Owens of Wilson, N. C.; and his grandchildren, Brooke, Alexis, Cassidy, Danielle, Miracle and Braiden.
