It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brenda Hooks Carlisle (Tarboro, North Carolina), born in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on June 25, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward L. Steele and Mary "Frances" Taylor; her siblings, Edgar R. Hooks and Mary "Peanut" Steele; and her close friend Randy Potter.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Lewis (Oliver) of Chocowinity and Robert Carlisle (Krystle) of Tarboro; her grandchildren, Madison Lewis (Micah), Joshua Lewis of Chocowinity and Silas Carlisle of Tarboro; her great grandchild River Dickerson; her stepfather Meredith Taylor Jr.; and her siblings, Peggy Walker (Richie) of Macclesfield and Edward Hooks. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
