She was predeceased by: her parents, McKinnley Coffey and Annie Crump Coffey; her husband Lawrence Burse; her son Kenneth Burse; and her siblings, Paul, Roy Coffey, Pauline Sprouse and Loraine Goodwin.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Burse (Melanie) of Spruce Pine, Billy Burse (Vanessa) of Marion, Samantha Johnson (Eddie) of Burnsville and Paula McClellan of Spruce Pine; and her siblings, Charlie Coffey (Joann) and Christine Clark. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
