It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Judy Greer (Spruce Pine, North Carolina), who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Avery D. Carpenter. She is survived by: her mother Betty Queen Carpenter of Spruce Pine; her daughters, Jennifer Gilley (Matthew) of Spartanburg, SC and Julie Greer of Spruce Pine; her grandsons, Owen and Avery Gilley of Spartanburg, SC; her brother Steve Carpenter (Susie) of Spruce Pine; her nieces, Vanessa Hawes (Dave) and Elizabeth Patterson; and her aunts, Peggy Hodge, Edna Vess and Louise Duncan.

Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to Berry Chapel Baptist Church Backpack Ministry, C/O Berry Chapel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 785, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.

“Sorry to hear of your loss Jennifer and Julie. She and Jim raised beautiful daughters that loved them dearly. I’ve lost my mom and dad and I thank God every day I spent time with both of them until their deaths even though my parents were divorced. I still knew they both loved me . I’m sure we’ve all made mistakes but don’t let that ever cause you to lose your love for your parent. They are all you have for only a short period of time. Dianne.”
