She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Albert and Bessie Woody; her former husband Jason Burleson; her husband Walter Johnson; her son Charles Burleson; and her sisters, Lillian Harding and Marjorie Franklin.

She is survived by: her son Kenneth (Ken); her niece Jeanne Harding; and her grandchildren, Shannon Burleson of Greensboro, Grey Burleson of Aiken, SC, Ryan Burleson of High Point and Elliott Burleson (Amy) of Durham.
