He is survived by: his wife Nita Smith; his sons, Aaron Smith (Cari) of Bakersville and Byron Smith (Adrian) of Bakersville; his grandchildren, Heather Youngblood, Emma Tustin, Hannah Smith, Titus Smith, Sarah Smith, Mark Smith, Lydia Smith, Luke Smith, Isaiah Smith, Joshua Smith, Ruth Smith and Drew Smith; his great grandchildren, Shirley, Daniel Youngblood and Raelynn Tustin; and his siblings, Ray "Sonny" Smith (Judy), Edward Smith (Linda), JoAnn Wright and Nancy Smith.
