She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Wiseman and Sadie Aldridge Wiseman; her husband Aaron Carpenter; her son Ned Carpenter; and her siblings, Isabelle Ballew, Susie Wiseman, Evelyn Phillips, Joe, Ralph, Robert, Mack and Jesse Tom Wiseman.

She is survived by: her children, Lela Rhyne (Charles) of Newland, Bobby Carpenter (Mary) of Newland and Kent Carpenter of Newland; her grandchildren, Jeff Carpenter (Laura), Robin Harmon (Jamie), Michelle Vines (Greg) and Matthew Rhyne (Shasta); and her sisters, Betty Thomas (Phil) of Bandana and Emma Boone (Paul) of Newland. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
