He was predeceased by: his parent Esco Gibson; his wife Dianne Wright Gibson; and his brother Larry Gibson. He is survived by: his parent Helen Eisenhower Gibson; his children, Chuck Gibson and Debbie Morgan; his grandsons, Tyler Morgan and Timothy Morgan; and his sister Elaine Frazier.
