He is survived by: his children, Cheryll Lane Smith of Walstonburg, Steve Lane of Snow Hill, Bill Lane of Snow Hill and Dennis Lane of Snow Hill; his sister Mary Frances Jones of Snow Hill; his grandchildren, Will Lane, Austin Lane, William Lane Jr., Katie Merritt and Josh Merritt; and also Teresa "Lisa" Goff.
