She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie White and Ruby Potter White; and her husband James Ervin May, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Elaine Bell (Mike) of Chocowinity, Cindy Murphrey (Everette) of Farmville, Ervin May (Lisa) of LaGrange and Charles May of Snow Hill; her grandchildren, Lindsey May of Charlotte, Sydni May Green (Cameron) of Pink Hill, Mayce Murphrey of Charlotte, Shalom Bell Walund (John) of Cleveland, TN, Ryden Bell (Laurin) of Charlotte and Stephanie Kendall of Georgia; her great grandchildren, Josh, Abby and Lily Hope Walund; and her sisters, Susie Grady of Kinston and Hilda Haire of Garner.
