He is survived by: his wife Mary Phillips Slater; his daughters, Karen Slater Dixon (Timmy), Sylvia Slater Connor (Mickey) and Annette Slater Pridgen (Evans); his grandchildren, Kerry Henning (Mark), Bradley Dixon (Shelley), Morgan Davis (John), Alyssa Ferguson (Garrett) and Whit Connor (Marti); his great grandchildren, Brandon Beaman, Kayla Beaman, Noelle Dixon and Savannah Davis; and his sister Sarah McCoy Hurley.
