He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie H. Pope and Susan Sigmon Pope; and his siblings, Helen Caldwell, Lucille Yount, Doris Allen, Mary Nixon, Cleo Abernethy, Harrel Pope, Roy Pope, Tate Pope, Fred Pope and Charles Junior Pope.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Lee Beal Pope; his children, John Michael Pope of Maiden, NC and Joretta Pope Fish (Steve Fish) of Maiden, NC.; and his granddaughter Elyn Marie Fish of Maiden, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
