He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gaither Matthews and Annie Lee Hopkins Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his sons, Dennis Matthews (Diana) and Jonathan Matthews (Brandi); his sister Jackie Bass (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Daniel and McKenzie.
