He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Alger Barbour Sr. and Pauline Lanning Barbour; his former wife Dorothy Barbour; his daughter Shannon Goodwin; his son-in-law Ronald Goodwin; his grandson Wyatt Goodwin; his siblings, W. A. Dub Barbour Jr., Bobby Barbour and Margie Dean; and his sister-in-law Joyce Barbour.
He is survived by: his wife Annette Barbour; his children, James Jimbo Barbour, Glen Byrd and Lee Byrd (Amy); his grandchildren, Ian Goodwin, Nathan Byrd, Jordan Byrd, Rachel Byrd and Brittany Strunks; his great grandchild Brayden Strunks; his sisters, Rose Hause (Floyd) and Mary Rogers; and his sister-in-law Mary Garner Barbour.
