With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Smith Mowery of Salisbury, North Carolina, who passed away on June 9, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Matthew Smith and Joan Richards Smith; and her son Mikey Anderson. She is survived by: her husband Fred L. Mowery, Jr.; her stepson Lewis Mowery (Gretchen); her grandchildren, Mark, Trevor and Dean Mowery; her stepgrandson Ross Wayne; her granddaughters, Ashley Yates and Emily Tucker; her siblings, Yvonne Brincefield, Matthew Smith (Lisa) and Mark Smith (Trudy); her nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Jason), Jordan, Kristina (Perry), Heather, Adam (MegAnn), Kaden, Ava, Mason, Thomas, Brooklynn, Valerie, Cody and Katie; and her sister-in-law Margaret Kirby. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
