It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Simpson Houston (Salisbury, North Carolina), born in China Grove, North Carolina, who passed away on December 16, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Simpson and Annie Mae Hamilton Simpson; her husband John Howard Houston Sr.; her children, John Howard Houston Jr., Veronica Houston and Darren Houston; and her siblings, Alene Arnold, Colbert Simpson of Theodore Simpson, H. K and James Simpson.
She is survived by: her grandchild Elisha Avery; her children, Marvin Houston of Salisbury, Devlin Houston of Nashville, TN, Tara Houston Bobo and Cheryl Houston of Salisbury; her granddaughter Nyemiah Sauchay; her daughter-in-law Sharon Houston of Salisbury; her siblings-in-law, Frederick Houston (Marine), Guy Propst and Hazel Jenkins; and her close friend Betty Hutchinson of Salisbury. She is also survived by 10 other grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren.
