She was predeceased by: her parents, Billy Ray Peeler and Jerrie Neale Peeler; and her father-in-law Walter Poteat. She is survived by: her husband Steven Ray Poteat; her son Jay Steven Poteat of Salisbury; her siblings, Dennis Peeler of Salisbury and Toni Lowman of Salisbury; her mother-in-law Joyce Poteat of Salisbury; her sister-in-law Karen Cantrell of Rockwell; her nieces and nephews, Denise, Harli, Kaley, Mark and Brian; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cambrie, Sawyer and Emily.

“STEVE, SO SORRY TO FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR WIFE. I GOT IT THRU THE SCV EMAIL. (don't take the sal. post) WHEN I LAST SEEN HER, AT CAMP MEETING, I THOUGHT SHE LOOKED GOOD, & SHE SAID SHE WAS DOING BETTER. SHE WAS WELL LOVED & NEEDED, BUT THE LORD MUST NEED HER FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL. SHE WAS A SPECIAL LADY HERE TOO, DOING A LOT FOR OUR CAMP, & I'M SURE FOR YOU & THE REST OF FAMILY. SHE WILL BE VERY WELL MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER OR EVER MET HER. SORRY AGAIN & I WILL PRAY FOR YOU MY FRIEND, CARLOS E.”
