He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Ruble and Ruth Ruble; his brother-in-law Gary Allison; and his father-in-law Hubert Shelby. He is survived by: his wife Manda Ruble; his son Ryan; his daughter-in-law Ashley Ruble; his daughter Laura; his son-in-law Dwight Loflin; his granddaughters, Landyn Ruble and Callie Loflin; his mother-in-law Peggy Shelby; his siblings, Amy Allison and William; and his sister-in-law Shirley Ruble. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.

Dan desired any monetary donations be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Playground Fund, 2300 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146.
