It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Connie Sue Bender of Salisbury, North Carolina, born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleo Alice Gerst (Mehaffy) and Herbert R. Gerst; her brothers, Billy and Dick Gerst; and her great grandchild Nova.
She is survived by: her husband Michael Ray Bender; her sons, Michael Bender, Jr. (Rachel), Jason Bender, Joshua Bender (Jennifer) and Justin Bender; her siblings, Randy Gerst (Juanita), Jim Gerst (Laurie), Sally Schrock and Annette Brown; and her grandchildren, Alexandra, Mikayla, Rhianna, Angelina, Morgen, Gabriella, Stella, Casey, Carly and Quinn.
