He is survived by: his daughters, Aimee McKay (Will) of Kenansville and Dana West (David) of Watha; his grandchildren, Dylan, Halee, Ethan and Karen; his siblings, Donnie Shields, Ken Shields, Morris "Bubba" Tatum and Hope Barnhill; and his friend Danny.
