She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Harrell and Catherine Brittain Harrell. She is survived by: her husband Johnny M. Yates Sr.; her children, Laura Y. Hansen (Chris) of Surf City and John Martin Yates Jr. (Cady) of Rocky Point; her grandchildren, Jacob Scott, Graham Yates and Emmie Yates; her sisters, Cathy H. Tompkins of Burgaw, Martha H. Thomas of Burgaw and Doris H. Robbins of Rocky Point; and her close friend Leona Pridgen. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; one great great niece.
