He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Moss, Sr. and Alice Driver Moss; his wife Velma Winstead Moss; his daughter Brenda Jo Moss Cockrell; his siblings, Milton Moss, Cuther Moss, Carl Linwood Moss, Lucille Viverette, Idaline Joyner, Betty Rae Pittman and Georgia Mae Bass; and his son-in-law Joseph William Cockrell.
He is survived by: his son Michael "Mike" Erskine Moss (Jamie) of Nashville; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Cockrell (Bobbie Jo Hargrove), Jennifer Cockrell (Ray), Brittany Moss Glover and Chandler Moss (Leslie); and his great grandchildren, Jessica Flood, Joey Smith, Jonah Glover, Nolan Glover, Bennett Glover, Ava Grace Moss and Owen Moss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Simon's memory to Corinth Baptist Church, 2883 N. NC 58 Hwy., Nashville, NC 27856.
