He was predeceased by: his parents, Cicero "Sid" Watkins Smith and Mary Frances Call Smith; his wife Loretta Austin Smith; and his brother Anthony Earl Smith. He is survived by: his children, Randall Todd Smith (Kelly) of Salisbury and Rhonda Smith Elliott (John) of Gold Hill; his grandson Corbin A. Elliott; his pets, Harley James Smith and Lilly-Ann Noel Smith; his sister Marsha Smith Correll (Robert) of Mocksville; his siblings-in-law, Helen Peacock, Ernest Austin (Pat) and Rick Austin (Pat); his caregivers, Patti Watkins, Ada Lyerly, Amanda Adams, Debra McLaughlin, Elizabeth Wear, Tracy Coley, Lisa Fields, Joyce Hartman, Annie Wilkey, April Eller and Lisa McDonald; and his close friend Linda Head.
