He was predeceased by: his parents, Cicero Barnes and Irene Barnes; his brothers, Charles Barnes and James Barnes; his parents-in-law, Claude and Mae Eller; and his brother-in-law Grady Eller.
He is survived by: his wife Alvyn Eller Barnes; his children, Renee Brooks (Jeff) and Stephen Barnes (Sandy); his grandchildren, Tyler Brooks (Lela), Hunter Brooks, Katie Barnes and Brack Barnes; his great grandchild Tucker Brooks of Rockwell; his brother Kenneth Barnes (Betty) of Gold Hill; and his siblings-in-law, Frances Barnes of Richfield, Edna Barnes of Reidsville, Vance Eller (Betty) of Salisbury, Reid Eller (Sue) of Richfield and Max Eller (Linda) of Rockwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
