He was predeceased by: his parents, George Powlas and Mary Powlas. He is survived by: his wife Mita Shuping Powlas; and his brother Alan Powlas (Terri).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or St. Paul's Lutheran Church Capital Building Fund.
