She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Smith Dawkins and Woodrow Hayes Dawkins; her husband Robert Cardwell; and her sister Dorothy Totten. She is survived by: her siblings, Joann Gaines and William Thomas; her son Frank Dawkins; her goddaughter Samethia Bowden (George); her siblings, Eloise Davis, Gracie Williams, Sheneva Booker (Alvin), Mattie Dawkins, Emily Ziglar (Clarence), Brenda Dawkins, Bishop Woodrow Dawkins and Clarence Dawkins; and her caregiver Carla Mitchell. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
