He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Franklin and Georgia Pearl Rogers Edwards; his wife Melba Jeane Barnes Edwards; his brothers, John William (JW) and Nicky Edwards; and his grandchildren, Samantha and Jesse Justice.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Michael Edwards (Sharon) of Robbinsville, Deborah Elaine Edwards Justice (Ronnie) of Cullowhee and Jeane Michelle Edwards Shiplet (Matt); his brother Maurice Edwards (Joyce) of Franklin; his great grandchildren, Desire and Carter (Kevin); and also, Samantha, Thomas, Robert Edwards (Kimberly), Novi, Melba Janine Edwards, Misty Ware (Mark), Christopher, Nathanael, Kimberly Tipton (Jerry), Danielle, Elijah, Emma, Teagan, Terra Shiplet and Tanner. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
