He was predeceased by: his mother Louise Hasty Moore; his brother Charles Emory Edwards; and his stepparents, Nellie Wright Edwards and Louis Griffin Moore. He is survived by: his children, Robert Lee Edwards, Jr. (Bobby Lee) of Roanoke Rapids, Jamie Leigh Edwards of Gaston and Amy Van Dam (Mark) of Roanoke Rapids; and his grandson Jake Van Dam.
