With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Henry Chester Brown Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, who passed away on June 7, 2022 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Chester Brown, Sr. and Anne Price Brown; and his sister Pat Crist. He is survived by: his wife Doris Brown; his daughters, Ariel Duhadaway, Rhea Votipka (Daniel) and Hana Brown; his grandchildren, Joanna Duhadaway, Grady Duhadaway, Luca Votipka and Henrietta Votipka; his sister Sandy Isley; and his cousin Betsy Pritchard (Joe).

“My twin brother Jack, and I played many an afternoon with Hank. We were all in elementary school at Walnut Street School in Goldsboro. The theme of our play dates was playing soldiers and chasing down the bad guys. Hank was a fearless warrior in those days of the early 1960’s. His Dad had some Army surplus gas masks which we used to add authenticity to our battle scenes. I recently saw Hank at the GHS Class of 1971 Reunion and had a chance to catch up. It was good to see him and remember.”
