He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Lewis Sr. and Effie Manning Lewis; his wife Linda Lane Lewis; his siblings, Billie Martin and Arnold D. Lewis; and his brother-in-law Al Lane.
He is survived by: his sons, William G. Lewis of Montgomery and Richard M. Lewis (Patricia) of Wales; and his sister-in-law Gail Lane of Roanoke Rapids. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece, two nephews, a great-niece and great nephew.
