He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Massey and Grace Barker Massey; his wife Evelyn Joyce Massey; and his siblings, Billy Massey, E. W. Massey, Marilyn Somers and Kathryn Griffin.

He is survived by: his stepsons, Lee Paschal, Jr. (Valerie "Joyce") and Ricky Paschal (Vickie).
