It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mae Hathaway Ayers of Reidsville, North Carolina, born in Tarboro, North Carolina, who passed away on August 7, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Hathaway and Annie Cox Hathaway; and her husband Tom Brett Ayers. She is survived by: her children, Brett Ayers (Carolyn) of Winona, MN, Adam Ayers (Ann) of Chapel Hill and Lori A. Greene (Tim) of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Andrew Ayers, Elaine Ayers, Alex Preston (Bryant), Cara Greene, Amelia Ayers and Louisa Ayers; and her great grandchildren, Fisher, Walker, Natalie and Abigail Preston.
