She is survived by: her mother Elsie Martin Hairston; her children, Tommy Hayes, Sr. (Sharon) and Betsy Scales of Reidsville, NC; her grandchildren, TJ Hayes (Sade) of Suitland, MD and Keshyla Smith (Kaylin) of Reidsville, NC; her great grandchildren, KJ Smith and Trayce Hayes; her sisters, Dorothy Hairston of Danville, VA and Lottie Hairston of Danville, VA; and her close friends, Jennie Carter of Reidsville, NC and Ola Hairston of Stoneville, NC.
