He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Lester Sr. and Hazel Kathrine Gorman Lester. He is survived by: his children, Derrick Lester, Jennifer Fountain and Matt Oris; and his sister Kathleen Lester. He is also survived by grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Honoring his wishes, his remains were donated to the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education in Winston-Salem, NC.
