He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Markham and Thelma Aycock Markham; his wife JoAnne Markham; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Shaver. He is survived by: his children, Audra Markham, Lisa Shaver and Charles Kerry Markham; his grandchildren, Brianna Markham (Daniel), Kayleigh Hoeft (Michael), Michael Dale Early, Jr. (Whitney), Morgan Haines (Joseph), Steven Hyler (Lovey), Jeremy Hyler, Melissa Hyler, Leslie Adair (Chris), Jennifer Degroot (Tim) and Sylvia Mapili (Orlando); his sister Beverly Sanders; his niece Sarah Bock (Owen); and his close friends, Henry Chapman, Ginger Shaver and Donnie Whitfield. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
