With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Tuggle Long (Raleigh, North Carolina), born in Roxboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 9, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar W. Long and Iris O'Briant Long; and his sisters, Mary Ruth Lester and Betsy Clark. He is survived by: his wife Hope; his children, Mary Worthington (David), Alicia Ellington (Dave) and David W. Long (Amy); his sister Becky Oakley; and his grandchildren, Justin, Blake, Will, Rowan and Anna Elizabeth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hayes Barton Baptist Church, 1800 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27608, in his memory.
