It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Gayle Tharpe (Prospect Hill, North Carolina), born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on April 22, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Irving Tharpe and Bessie Lankford Tharpe; her daughter Kimberly Grimes Throckmorton (Jimmy Lee) of Scottsburg; her granddaughters, Haylee and Savannah; her brother Dale Tharpe (Donna) of Saxe; and her friend Elsie Blalock (Lloyd) of Prospect Hill.
