It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Hughes of Prospect Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on December 25, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hughes and Clearcy Bumgarner Hughes; and his wife Elizabeth Charlotte Wishon Hughes. He is survived by: his children, Robert Hughes (Beverly) of Prospect Hill, Darrell Hughes (Rachel) of Prospect Hill, Frank Hughes (Brandy) of Prospect Hill and Lisa H. Pendergrass (Patrick) of Prospect Hill; and his grandchildren, James Lewis Hughes, Amber Hughes, Connor Hughes, Caleb Hughes, Kaylee Hughes, Ashley Hughes, Rebecca Hughes and Sara Hughes. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
