We are sad to announce that on January 22, 2021, at the age of 90, Robert Thorpe (Norwood, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Clarence and Mary Ada Gatton Thorpe; his former wife Nelle Honeycutt Thorpe; his grandson Matthew Edwards; and his siblings, Harold, Tom, Ralph, Leroy Thorpe, Margaret Mesimer, Kathleen Arey and Helen Newton.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Thorpe (Polly); his children, Toby Thorpe (Kathy) of Albemarle and Amy Thorpe Edwards (Tommy) of Polkton; his stepson Mark Poplin (Kelly) of Norwood; and his grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) of Raleigh, Daniel (Mackkenzie Almond) of Knightdale, Ashley Purser (Kyle) of Monroe and Thomas Edwards of Polkton.
