He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pearl and Ethel Elizabeth Garris Owens; his sons, Phillip Richard Owens and Johnny Wayne Owens; and his siblings, Betty Evelina Brock and Johnny Raymond Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Willa Dean Carroll Owens; his daughter Cindy Owens (William R. Garrett) of Moravian Falls; his brothers, Everette James Owens of North Wilkesboro and Roy Monroe Owens of North Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Kristi Bailey (Anthony) of North Wilkesboro, Amber Owens of North Wilkesboro, Jacob Owens of North Wilkesboro and Kasey Owens of Wilkesboro; and his great grandchildren, Jayden Owens of Moravian Falls, Sophie Bailey of North Wilkesboro, Isaac Bailey of North Wilkesboro, Abigail Bailey of North Wilkesboro, Alyssa Bailey of North Wilkesboro, Emmaline Owens of North Wilkesboro and Ella Owens of Wilkesboro.
