It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucille Mathis of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Hawkins and Nettie Whitley Hawkins; and her husband James Mathis. She is survived by: her daughters, Jamie Call (Greg) of Wilkesboro and Tammy Byers (Max) of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Samantha Byers (Brandon) of Park Hills, Sydney Miller (John) of Moravian Falls and Tyler Call (Sarah) of Wilkesboro; her great grandchild Mackenzie; and her sister Linda Hawkins of North Wilkesboro.
