He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Pate and Fannie Mae Porter Benton. He is survived by: his wife Belinda Perkins Benton; his sons, Matthew Benton (Jamie) of North Wilkesboro, Jonathan Benton (Elizabeth Kilgore) of Randleman and Christopher Benton (Katherine Benton) of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Kylee, Zoey, Emma, Korben and Lydianna Benton; and his sisters, Dorothy Benton of Charlotte and Carolyn Miller of Charlotte.
