He is survived by: his wife Doris Stanley Smithey; his children, Michael James Smithey of North Wilkesboro and Tammy Tugman (Joseph) of Granbury, Texas; his grandchildren, Joshua Tugman of Granbury, Texas and Kayla Tugman of Granbury, Texas; his sisters, Joan Huffman (Lonnie) of North Wilkesboro, Shirley Paxson (Johnny) of Hays, Mildred Call (Charles) of Boomer and Judy Combs (Larry) of Wilkesboro; and his great-nephew Reese Bare. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
